Company history

Our company in Corinth (Greece) has been manufacturing high-quality hardware since 1972. NIKO started as a small family business producing high-quality fittings for the German market. After years of growing into a mid-sized company, thanks to quality and reliability, its products are now sold worldwide through 6 subsidiaries.

1972

Theo Kordakis founds Helm Hellas S.A. in Greece, beginning the growth of a company specialising in technological transport systems and industrial solutions.

1974

The company develops the first NIKO light crane systems for safe, ergonomic movement of loads in production plants, workshops and warehouses.

1980

NIKO expands its range with power supply systems supporting mobile equipment, industrial machinery and material-handling installations.

1986

Development begins on NIKO monorail systems, enabling efficient overhead transport of materials and components along production lines.

1990

Helm Hellas S.A. receives a Chamber of Commerce award, confirming the company's growth and its rising position in the industrial sector.

1998

NIKO Austria is established — the first major foreign subsidiary supporting the sales and distribution of NIKO systems across European markets.

1999

NIKO England is founded, extending the NIKO Group's presence in the British market and developing local service for industrial customers.

2000

NIKO Austria develops the PSS personal safety system, increasing protection for workers using industrial transport systems.

2001

Helm Hellas S.A. obtains ISO certification, confirming structured quality-management processes and compliance with international standards.

2004

NIKO Germany is established, strengthening the NIKO Group's presence in one of the largest European industrial and manufacturing markets.

2011

NIKO USA is founded, beginning direct sales of light crane, overhead rail and technological transport systems in North America.

2012

NIKO Polska is established, giving Polish companies access to NIKO light cranes, jib cranes, overhead tracks and material-handling solutions.

2013

The founding of NIKO China extends the NIKO Group's operations to the Asian market and supports customers in the manufacturing and industrial sectors.

NIKO England expands its headquarters and operational facilities, increasing the company's warehousing, logistics and technical capacity in the British market.

2016

NIKO Austria expands its new building, creating additional space to support further growth in sales, logistics and servicing of NIKO technological transport systems.

2019

NIKO Polska strengthens its position as the warehousing and distribution hub for NIKO technological transport systems, serving customers in Poland and Central Europe.

2025

NIKO Polska expands its presence in the Polish industrial market, taking part in trade fairs and industry conferences. At Weld Tech 2025 the company presents modular light crane and jib systems supporting ergonomic welding workstations and material handling in production plants.

2026

NIKO Polska takes part in the EXPO-SURFACE fair in Kielce and the Surfex conference during ITM Industry Europe in Poznań, presenting technological transport systems for powder and liquid coating lines, among others.
